Intercultural comparison of teaching and learning conditions at tertiary institutions in China and Germany

The respective teaching and learning conditions at the two partner universities, ECUST and the Lübeck University of Applied Sciences, will be examined as a case study of the particular cultural differences in teaching and learning conditions at tertiary institutions in China and Germany. The central issue here is that of which synergies can be gained from different perspectives on methodology and didactics, and which targeted change processes to the didactic and methodological thinking and behaviour of Chinese tertiary teaching staff are necessary, and indeed possible, to adjust to German teaching and learning standards. Furthermore, the extent to which tertiary institutions can learn from each other through teaching staff will also be examined.
